Frequently asked questions

Where are classes held?

All our classes are held online. Just log in to your account after and you will see a list of all your upcoming classes. Click the Join button at the time of the class and you will enter the class. There's nothing to download and no other links to worry about.

Do I have to show my video in class?

We prefer if you do. When teachers are able to see the students it helps with lesson delivery and also with their ability to give you the attention you need.

Can I really take classes from anywhere?

Sure you can! All you need is a good internet connection and a quiet place to join from. You can even do it on your phone!

Do I have to take both group and private classes?

Our programmes are designed for both group and private learning. We strongly believe that 1-on-1 attention will accelerate learning speed, by allowing tailored, and individualised focus for each learner. For this reason, we highly recommend them. Small group classes, are very also very effective and is a great way to learn and practice with your peers. Our reading programme provides you with a mix of both small group and 1-on-1 lessons, so you get the best of both worlds.

What is the cost for classes?

Our programmes are affordable for everyone. We ask that students commit to at least twenty-four (24) weeks of consistent instruction. Please see our SIGN IN page or contact us for more details.

How do I pay for classes?

Payment can be made at any Bill Express retail outlet or Bill Express Online, as well as through their digital partners. Please contact us for more information about payment and payment methods.

What do I need for classes?

Nothing! Well, you need to show up, have good internet connection, preferably a headset with microphone and a quiet background. You will sometimes need something to write on and to write with, so have that handy, too. We provide all reading materials. However, for specific assignment help your teacher will tell you what you might need to have with you. You will need a desire to succeed!

How old do I need to be able to join these classes?

Age is just a number here at Jamaica Reads. You could be as young as 4 years old or as golden as 100+, you can join our classes. Be sure to choose the class and level that is right for you.

What is the reading club?

Our Reading Club is available to anyone who wishes to practice reading or just want to read more. You will read stories with your teacher and answer comprehension questions, build vocabulary and speaking skills. You will also share your thoughts and experiences related to the story. It will be great, so don't miss it!

At what time are classes held?

Classes are held every day of the week. You can book your classes at a time that is convenient for you. Once you have booked your classes, please check your schedule or your email for reminders and the link to join at the appointed time.

I have a learning disability, can I join these classes?

Our teaching methodologies are perfect for students with learning and reading challenges, including dyslexia. Your teacher will make recommendations for a specific course of study or assistance where necessary.

We provide the reading material for you so you don't have to worry about purchasing books or any other resources. All you have to do is join our classes.
