Come join the fun!
When children read, they improve their language skills, build empathy and learn how to handle challenging feelings. They achieve greater academic success and generally earn more on average, when they are adults. They are happier and often healthier, too!

Practice and improve your reading skills
Reading sessions are guided and moderated by a trained and experienced teacher. Readers receive gentle corrective feedback when needed.
Reading material provided
You only need to show up ready to read, chat, and do fun activities. All reading material are provided by Jamaica Reads.
Improve your reading comprehension
Concept Checking and discussion questions are asked throughout the reading to ensure that students fully comprehend the reading material.
Expand your vocabulary
New words are explained and used in discussions and quizzes to help readers build and expand their vocabulary.
Improve your language skills
“Just exposure to words is the single most important thing that you can do to help build the language pathways in your child’s brain,” says Laura Phillips, PsyD, the senior director of the Learning and Development Center at the Child Mind Institute.
Make new friends
We are joined by students and readers from other countries. This is a great way to start new friendships, learn about different cultures, and maybe even learn a new language!
